CHISINAU (Moldova), August 21 (SeeNews) - The loan portfolio of Moldovan commercial banks totalled 33.8 billion lei ($2.7 billion/2.2 billion euro) at the end of July, up 17.4% from a year earlier, the country's central bank, BNM, said on Tuesday.
The average annual interest rate on foreign currency-denominated loans dropped to 7.74% at the end of July from 9.23% a year earlier. The average annual interest rate on leu-denominated credits fell to 13.38% from 14.32% at end-July 2011.
