BUCHAREST (Romania), August 8 (SeeNews) - Romanian insurer Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari said on Wednesday its pre-tax profit, reported under international accounting standards, rose 34% to 7.4 million lei ($2.0 million/1.6 million euro) in the first half of 2012.
Gross written premiums were flat at 460.2 million lei through June, Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari said in a statement.
Gross written premiums on the non-life insurance segment fell to 407.1 million lei in the first half of 2012 from 409.7 million lei a year earlier while premiums from life insurance operations increased 5.0% to 53.1 million lei.
